Letters from Our Clients
“They Help Me Keep a Promise to My Mother” I was born in Japan but moved to New Zealand decades ago. When my mother passed away five years ago, her final wish was to rest in her hometown cemetery in Japan — a place surrounded by trees and silence. I honored that wish, but as years passed, I couldn’t visit. When I finally returned, I found the gravestone covered in moss, wild grass overtaking the area, even a small tree growing beside it. I felt I had failed her. Then I discovered Kokoro Courier. Since then, they’ve visited the grave regularly — cleaning the site with care, pulling the weeds, even trimming nearby branches. They place flowers, burn incense, and send me before-and-after photos after each visit. Seeing the clean, peaceful space where my mother rests brings me deep comfort. It feels like someone is watching over her in my place. I can never thank them enough. — Yumi S., New Zealand “A Birthday Gift From 9,000 Kilometers Away” I couldn’t visit my partner in Japan this year, so I asked the service to hand-deliver a small gift and letter on her birthday. They wrapped it beautifully and even added a flower. She called me crying — not from sadness, but from feeling loved. Thank you for making that happen. — Olivia R., Australia “They Helped Me Keep a Promise to My Grandmother” Before she passed, my grandmother told me stories about a doll she once had in Japan during her youth. I shared that story with this team. Somehow, they found a nearly identical vintage doll and had it sent to me. We placed it beside her photo. It brought peace to our whole family. — Gabriel F., Argentina “A Childhood Dream Come True” As a child, I always dreamed of owning a full set of Japanese Sailor Moon stationery I saw in a magazine. I reached out on a whim, expecting nothing. But within weeks, they had tracked down each item from collectors and shops across Japan. I cried when I opened the package. That little girl inside me felt seen. — Mei Lin C., Singapore “They Went to My Father's Hometown for Me” My father grew up in a small fishing village in Japan. After he passed, I wanted to reconnect with that part of him. The team visited the village, took photos of his old school and the harbor he spoke of, and even sent me a small stone from the beach. I’ll treasure it forever. — Daniel K., USA “Reuniting with My First Penpal” When I was a teen, I had a Japanese penpal I lost touch with after college. I gave this service the name and last known address, and incredibly, they found her. We exchanged letters again after 20 years. I never thought I’d reconnect with someone so dear to me. I owe them more than words. — Anna T., Sweden “A Complicated Problem, Solved with Care” A few months after returning from Japan, I started using an item I had purchased there — only to find that it suddenly stopped working. At first, I felt completely lost. I had no idea how to start a return or exchange from overseas, and the whole situation felt overwhelming. Then, I came across Kokoro Courier. What I thought would be a long and complicated process turned out to be smooth and stress-free thanks to their kind and detailed support. I don’t speak Japanese, and I was very anxious about how the return would work from abroad, but they handled everything with professionalism and care. Eventually, I received a replacement without any issues. Throughout the process, I felt reassured and supported. And now, every time I use the item again, I think of their kindness. This experience made me truly appreciate the reliability and heart of Kokoro Courier. I’m so grateful — and I know I can trust them again in the future. — Élodie M., France “A Simple Bento, a Deep Memory” My late wife and I used to share a specific kind of bento from a local shop in Kyoto. I asked if they could find it. Not only did they get it, they sent me photos, a video of the shop owner making it, and even had it preserved and shipped frozen. I ate it alone, but didn’t feel alone. — Thomas J., UK “My Mother’s Childhood Toy, Returned” I sent in an old photo of my mom holding a stuffed monkey toy she had while growing up in Japan. I asked if it was possible to find anything like it. Weeks later, they found the exact same model, worn but intact. When I gave it to her, she hugged it tightly. She didn’t speak. She didn’t have to. — Claire L., France “A Handwritten Recipe From a Stranger” I’d been trying to recreate a dish I once tasted at a tiny countryside inn years ago. I remembered only the flavor and town. The service tracked down the innkeeper, who was still alive, and got her to handwrite the recipe for me. She even added a little note. That dish now tastes like gratitude. — Elijah M., South Africa
